PathLift privacy

Your paths stay on your Mac.

PathLift works locally on your Mac. We do not collect copied paths, file contents, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or account information. The app has no analytics SDKs or custom network service.

Finder supplies the selected file/folder names and current folder so PathLift can format them and write the macOS clipboard. In the App Store edition, a temporary request in the app's shared container transfers these paths from the Finder extension to the app. The request is deleted after processing; abandoned requests expire after two minutes and are cleaned when the next request is written. No copy history is kept.

Copy settings are stored locally. If you authorize a mounted network folder, PathLift stores a read-only security-scoped bookmark locally to look up its server/share metadata. It does not read file contents. Forget Network Permissions removes these saved bookmarks. The app does not mount shares or send data to its developer.

Other apps may access clipboard contents, and Apple's Universal Clipboard may sync them under your system settings. Apple processes App Store payments and may provide store or diagnostic information under Apple's own policies. PathLift has no separate account or payment processing.

Launch at login is optional and managed by macOS. The direct-download edition requests Finder Automation access solely to read paths; the App Store edition does not use Finder Automation.

Support correspondence contains whatever information you choose to send. Please avoid sending confidential paths, credentials, or private files.
